About
Baby Blue Gallery was started in 2017 by Caleb Beck, on Chicago’s lower west side. It stages monthly exhibitions of young contemporary artists. The gallery focuses on Chicago artists, but often pairs them with outside artists. Common themes of the programming are humor and playfulness in art.
Baby Blue Gallery started as an apartment gallery, with the goal of providing an exhibition space for young contemporary artists to develop their practice. After six months, the reception from artists and viewers was so positive, that in December 2017 it relocated to a full-time exhibition space, located on the corner of Cermak and Halsted. In 2018 it was named Best Amateur Gallery, by NewCity Art, and it has received write ups in Chicago Magazine and Southside weekly.
